The Company is an IOC, based in Rio de Janeiro, focused on Offshore Production operations.


  • Build and maintain advanced history matched reservoir simulation models.
  • Use models to evaluate opportunities and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Carry out decline curve analysis to provide production forecasts and reserves estimations.
  • Assist in reserves assessment if required.
  • Build and maintain analytical models (e.g. material balance, pressure transient analysis) to characterize dynamic reservoir properties such as connected volumes, KH, Skin, reservoir boundaries etc.
  • Build and maintain well models (nodal analysis) using latest well test data and as such optimize gas-lift injection rates and other production parameters.
  • Play a key part in the annual reserve audit process of the company.
  • Provide reservoir engineering support for other disciplines including workover, drilling and production operations.
  • Mentoring junior staff.
  • Handle surveillance of production, injection and pressure data.
  • Assist in the building of an optimized drainage plan for all phases of development.
  • Creation, development and maintenance of dynamic Reservoir models for major producing assets.
  • Assist of developing the required forecasts for non-operated fields assessments (either based on operators, consultant, or internal modeling), supporting the development programs, reserves assessment and assessing alternative strategies.
  • Complete field development plans including documentation, representation and execution.
  • Play a key part in the annual reserve audit process of the company.
  • Take on Role of operations engineer when required to do so.
  • As a team member responsible for the development of forecasts (production/reserves) and plans (drill schedule/well targets/site selection) for field development
  • Coordinate and support surface operations and facility engineering departments in all aspects of reservoir development planning, field performance and well optimization studies.

Qualification & Experience:

  • University degree / MSc in Petroleum engineering or relevant technical discipline.
  • At least 7 years' experience as reservoir engineer with at least 5 years of reservoir simulation (e.g. Eclipse, CMG)
  • Reservoir Management skills and experience
  • Competent in using Production databases and plotting tools (e.g. OFM)
  • Competent in Pressure transient analysis (PTA) and material balance analysis (e.g. MBal or similar)
  • Experience in working with PVT, RCAL and SCAL data
  • Competent in Nodal analysis (e.g. Prosper or similar)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Some operational experience as RE/PE is preferred
  • Competent spreadsheet user
  • Good soft skills (communication and presentation)
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject such as Petroleum, Mechanical or Chemical engineering and preferably a postgraduate qualification (MSc) in Petroleum Engineering.
